Viafarini costantly encourages and supports Italian artists' mobility throughout the world. For this purpose
Viafarini organizes a wide program of correlated initiatives, which aim is to propel the development of an international network for collaboration. Each single project has a common purpose and all of them are strongly interconnected and developed as on-going projects, in order to ensure the best effectiveness.

ArtBox database, online since 1997, offers informations about organizations for contemporary art and Art Academies, both in Italy and abroad, as well as updated news about residency programs, contemporary art prizes, fundings and scholarships. Artbox periodically provide its subscribers with a useful newsletter concerning the most interesting opportunities on short notice.

Italian Area is an editorial project, online since 2002, that presents more than 100 of the most representative italian artists, ranging from the late '80s to the present scene, providing international users with artists' profiles and a wide series of pictures of their most interesting artworks. The curatorial committee is composed by:
Chiara Bertola, Milovan Farronato, Gabi Scardi, Angela Vettese.
Since 2004 the project has been developed thanks to the primary contribution of Artegiovane and both Chambers of Commerce of Milan and Turin, as well as Associazione ACACIA, Fondazione Banna Spinola per l’arte, Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Furla per l’arte. As a result of the collaboration with Fondazione Furla, all the finalists of the prize Premio Furla per l'art are included in Italian Area.
MILANO ON THE MOVE
The program, started in 2006 by Viafarini with the support of PARC Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali and the Province of Milan, invites the directors of the most prestigious international residences to spend a short period in Milan to get in contact with the italian contemporary art scenario. Amongst documentational materials, apart from Italian Area, the archive of DOCVA Documentation Center for Visual Arts at Fabbrica del Vapore, e il database Italian Area.

VIR VIAFARINI-IN-RESIDENCE
VIR is Viafarini's residency program, started in 2008, that selects, invites and gives hospitality to international artists and curators, in order to let them spend a period of research and work in Milan, developing a curatorial project and getting in contact with Italian art scene. VIR has been developed thanks to the contributions of PARC Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali, ACACIA Associazione Amici Arte Contemporanea Italiana, Australia Council for the Arts, Fiorucci and Gemmo.
