Our relationship has begun in an unusual way: V.O. accepted to work with me because of a red vintage bag, with handles and quite big, that I have been wearing almost every day for the past three years. I’m telling you this not to distract you, but just to say that elective affinities arise for apparently the most banal reasons and that they are also in a strict dialogue with authenticity.

VIR Viafarini-in-residence is glad to invite you to Una Mostra by Valentina Vetturi on the 29th of February 2012 from 6 pm, Via Farini 35. The invitation is strictly personal. The action will last twenty minutes and it will be repeated at regular intervals.
Una Mostra will be open by appointment from 1 to 4 March 2012.
Valentina Vetturi (Reggio Calabria, 1979). Her works investigate the relationships among performance, writing and the disruptive elements of everyday life. Recent projects/exhibitions include Un Viaggio (Spazio Norbert Salenbauch, Venice, 2011), The Playground (Premio LUM, Bari, 2011), La Funzione (Naba, Milan, 2011), La Macchina che produce il Tempo (Masseria Torre Coccaro, 2010), La Pendolare (Living Layers/Wunderkammern and MACRO, Rome, 2010). She is the author of several books, among them La Macchina che produce il Tempo (produced by Galleria Bonomo, Bari), and Un Esilio (produced by Tenuta dello Scompiglio, Lucca). She is the winner of the Razzano Prize and has taken part in various residencies including: FAAP- Fundaçao Armando Alvares Penteado (Sao Paulo, Brasil); Transient Space Summer Camp/Uqbar (Palanga, Lithuania); VIR Viafarini-in-residence (Milan). She is the co-founder of the collective Radice Quadrata.
