L'Artista per la Collettività @Viafarini.work
A discussion of collectivity-oriented art practices.
Wednesday, October 12, 2022
curated by Viafarini with Giacomo Zaganelli
with the support of Italian Council DG Contemporary Creativity Ministry of Culture (10th edition, 2021)
under the Patronage of Assessorato alla Cultura di Milano, as part of CorvettoNZSD with the contribution of Fondazione Cariplo.
Why are collaborations with territories, businesses, schools and institutions, today more than ever, fundamental to define new paradigms of exchange and sharing, between art, society and active citizenship?
Can a social role of the artist be defined and its ability to generate added value and, at the same time, to catalyze resources and interests from outside the sector, thus helping people work towards a common interest, be analyzed?
These are the starting questions of the workshop course curated by Giacomo Zaganelli, which will offer participants an opportunity to deepen and investigate the potential offered, today, by the figure of the artist working towards the community and on the sense of social utility of his work.
Participating in the research will be:
Paola Gaggiotti (artist), Liana Ghuskasyan (artist), Pasquale Campanella (Wurmkos foundation), Rossana Baroni (Di Studio in Studio), Sonia Arienta (artist), Vera Pravda (artist), Ivan Bragna (professor at the University of Milan-Bicocca of Aesthetic Anthropology and Media Anthropology), Umberto Cavenago (artist), Eleonora Roaro (artist), Alessandra Caccia (artist).
Giacomo Zaganelli's research L'artista per la collettività is a project realized thanks to the support of Italian Council (10th edition, 2021), a program for the international promotion of Italian art of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
